Automated Heaters and Shakers for MT Series Systems

MANTECH offers a wide range of automation options designed for lab efficiency and free up analysts’ time for other tasks. Laboratories can configure MANTECH systems to suit their specific needs.

For water and soil analysis, MANTECH integrates automated heaters and shakers for the MT Series Systems.

Adding Automated Heaters to your MANTECH System

For analysis that requires heated water samples, MANTECH offers a heater option for the MT Series. This options delivers precise temperature and process control. Analysts easily control and maintain the desired temperature and heating duration. They can also program the heater to turn on and off at specific times during the test run.

The heater can be used to heat water samples for tests including hot acidity, permanganate index (or oxidizability), and more. For testing requiring high heat, automated capping and uncapping is available to prevent evaporation loss of samples. Additionally, these caps are made of inert teflon, to protect against aggressive reagents and samples.

Adding Automated Shakers to your MANTECH System

Analyses that require shaking benefit from automated sample handling. Automated shaking of samples eliminates the manual transfer of samples to a separate shaking machine.

MANTECH mounts shaker racks on MT Series autosamplers, for tests like neutralization potential, soil pH and conductivity (EC), and acid rock drainage (ARD). Shakers can also be used for sample splitting, automatically shaking racks prepared from parent bottles. MANTECH can mount multiple shakers to meet specified throughput requirements.

With fixed position control, the shaker keeps tubes correctly aligned after shaking, so the autosampler can perform sample splitting or analysis accurately.

Shaker Racks Integrated with MANTECH Pro Software

MANTECH Pro Software fully integrates shaker racks and provides a user-friendly, customizable interface. The software automatically controls shaker operation during the run. Meanwhile, users adjust and control the speed and duration of the shaking. Depending on the method, the system either continues analysis after the shaking period, or ends the run with an automatically generated report. Built for Windows 11, MANTECH Pro Software even allows users to perform actions while the system is running.

For example, shaker racks play a key role in soil analysis. MANTECH’s IntelliRinse technology also ensures probes are rinsed clean before moving to the next sample. Users can set cleaning criteria in the software. After the final sample is analyzed, the shaker turns on. Users can also program QC checks from dedicated spots in the calibration station at the beginning, end, and at set intervals throughout the run.

Furthermore, automated shakers can be used to mix tubes that do not have room for a stirrer inside them. Using MANTECH Pro Software, analysts are in direct control of the shaking speed for optimal results.

The automated heaters and shakers for MANTECH’s MT Series allow laboratories to streamline their workflows by improving accuracy and free up analysts’ time. With full control through MANTECH Pro Software, labs can customize heating or shaking processes to meet specific method requirements. By adopting these automated capacities, laboratories can gain efficiency without compromising precision.
