MANTECH at ECOMONDO 2025

Members of the MANTECH team attended ECOMONDO 2025 conference in Rimini, Italy, this past November. In fact, 2025 marked our second time at the event, following an excellent first experience last year.

At our joint booth with FKV SRL, MANTECH’s Italian distributor, we showcased our Online BOD/COD Analyzers.

ECOMONDO is a fantastic conference, described as “the benchmark event in Europe for technological and industrial innovation” (Ecomondo). Specifically, the event brings together all sectors of the circular economy, fostering collaboration and sustainability. It was incredible to connect new people, greet familiar faces, and explore exciting opportunities in Italy.

One highlight of ECOMONDO 2025 was the Call For Papers. MANTECH submitted a case study that was accepted into the conference program. Consequently, our CEO, Robert Menegotto, gave a presentation on the case study during the event.

The case study was titled “You Can Only Control What You Monitor: Biochemical and Chemical Oxygen Demand (BOD & COD) in Wastewater Treatment Process”.

Case Study Overview

A UK wastewater treatment plant for residential water faced a challenge in its catchment. An industrial facility was dumping wastewater outside of the plant’s treatment capacity, after sampling occurred. Therefore, the key question was this: Can rapid BOD/COD technology be utilized to continuously monitor influent autonomously?

To address the issue, MANTECH installed its innovative online BOD/COD analyzer at the wastewater treatment plant. The analyzer enabled 24/7 autonomous monitoring of BOD levels. As a result, the collected data acted as evidence to hold the industrial facility accountable for improper discharges. This successful integration demonstrated the value of real-time monitoring technology in wastewater treatment.

About MANTECH’s Online BOD/COD Analyzers

The online autonomous analyzer monitors wastewater in municipal or industrial wastewater treatment plants, including pulp & paper mills, food & beverage producers, and more. Its advanced technology enables plants to ensure compliant discharge and optimize the treatment process. Additionally, the analyzer monitors multiple parameters including pH, alkalinity, ammonia, fluoride, and more.

Looking Ahead to 2026

Furthermore, we’re excited to announce that MANTECH will be attending ECOMONDO 2026! So, as sustainability and innovation continue to drive the future of water and wastewater management, we look forward to showcasing our innovations, connecting with industry leaders, and contributing to the global conversation on environmental solutions. Stay tuned for updates on what we’ll be bringing to next year’s event!
